Software we develop and operate
We develop and operate software applications, including on behalf of clients. Some of these applications let users connect their accounts on third-party platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube. When a user does so:
- We access their platform data only after they authorise it through the platform’s own sign-in and consent screen, and only within the permissions they grant.
- We use that data only to provide the service the user has asked for, such as showing their account and content performance and, where they choose, publishing content they have approved.
- We do not sell the data, share it with advertisers, or use it for advertising.
- Access tokens and data are stored securely, encrypted, with access limited to the systems that provide the service.
- We keep the data only as long as needed to provide the service, and in line with each platform’s terms. A user can disconnect an account at any time, in the application or in the platform’s own settings, and we then stop accessing it.
Service providers and transfers
Our applications run on Google Cloud and Firebase, which process data on our behalf. Data may be stored and processed in the United States. Where it is, we rely on the safeguards provided by those providers, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or Standard Contractual Clauses.
Legal basis
We process data in our applications to provide the service a user has requested (performance of a contract) and, for connected platform accounts, on the basis of the consent given when the account is connected.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, or to ask for your data to be deleted, email eddie.george@egl.com. We respond within one month.
